Our Mission:

The mission of the Granville Education Foundation is to enhance student performance by providing resources and enrichment programs in partnership with the community and Granville County students.  

That's a mouthful, but it goes to the heart of everything we do.  Simply put, it's all about the students.


THE Granville education foundation (GEF) is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing student performance in granville county schools. established in 1986, GEF has consistently poured resources into the classrooms to improve student proficiency.

In the 2015-2016 year, GEF supported granville county public schools by:

  • awarding over $38,000.00 in grants to GCPS teachers 
  • Giving each elementary school $1,000 to use for literacy needs
  • Sponsoring GCPS’s Kaleidoscope Visual & Musical Arts Show and Workshops
  • Providing the opportunity for GCPS 5th grade students to see the NC Symphony 
  • Providing each High School with an Art Residency Program- bringing professional artists (potters, poets, and jazz musicians) into the schools to work with the students in small groups
  • giving $25,000 to gCPS for textbook purchases
  • Sponsoring thE Teacher of the Year Dinner Banquet for all Teacher of the Year candidates
  • & Awarding a monetary gift to the Teacher of the Year and 1st & 2nd Runners-up


totaling over $100,000.00 given to Granville county public schools in grant opportunities, enrichment programs, literacy initiatives, and other resources.
